Holy Trinity Cross Country: Endurance, Perseverance, and Faith Welcome to the Cross Country program at Holy Trinity Catholic School & Preschool in San Pedro, California. As a valued fall sport in our athletics lineup, cross country challenges students to push their limits while building endurance, mental toughness, and a deep sense of community. Fully aligned with our school's Christ-centered mission to develop students spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally, this co-ed program teaches young runners the value of perseverance and teamwork in a supportive, faith-filled environment.

Open to both boys and girls, cross country at Holy Trinity offers an inclusive opportunity for students to grow as athletes and individuals, competing in the Foundation For Interscholastic Youth Athletics (FIYA) league and Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) league alongside sports like flag football, girls volleyball, swimming, and golf.

Program Overview

Holy Trinity's cross country team welcomes students in middle school grades, typically 3rd through 8th, with a focus on individual improvement and team support. As a co-ed program, runners train together and compete in meets across varying courses, from parks to trails.

Practices build aerobic capacity, speed, and strength through interval training, hill workouts, and long runs. Coached by dedicated volunteers and staff, the team emphasizes personal goals like finishing first in a race or achieving a personal record, while fostering the Charger spirit of encouragement and unity. Meets in the CYO league provide exciting competition, bringing families and the San Pedro community together to cheer on our runners.
